Privacy Policy
Effective 9 September 2026.
This policy explains what personal information Flathead Forge collects through www.flatheadforge.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers the Site only. It does not cover information you give us away from the Site, information our portfolio companies collect through their own products, or anything handled through a separate investor portal or data room, each of which is governed by its own terms.
Flathead Forge is an operator-led investment platform. We do not sell anything through this Site, we do not run accounts or logins on it, and we do not operate an advertising business.
The short version
This Site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind. There is no sign-up, no newsletter and no visitor profile. The only personal information we hold from the Site is what you choose to type into the contact form or put in an email to us.
The rest of this policy sets out the detail.
Information you give us
The contact form asks for your first and last name, your email address, an optional phone number, which of the listed categories describes how you would like to be involved, and your message. You decide what goes in the message. Please do not send us confidential or sensitive personal information through it.
If you email us directly, we hold whatever your message contains, including your address and any attachments.
Information collected automatically
We do not run analytics. We do not use tracking pixels, advertising tags, session recording, or fingerprinting, and we do not build a profile of you.
Two things still happen automatically, because they happen for any website:
Server logs. Our host, Vercel, records standard technical information about requests to the Site, including your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. Vercel keeps these logs for a limited period and we use them only to keep the Site running and secure. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.
Fonts. The Site loads one typeface from Adobe Fonts. Your browser requests that file directly from Adobe, which means Adobe receives your IP address and standard request headers. We receive nothing from Adobe about you. Adobe's handling of that request is governed by Adobe's own privacy policy. Every other typeface is served from our own domain and involves no third party.
Cookies
We set no cookies of any kind, including analytics and advertising cookies. There is nothing to consent to and nothing to opt out of, which is why the Site shows no cookie banner.
How we use your information
We use what you send us to reply to you, to evaluate an opportunity you have raised, to keep a record of our correspondence, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Where the law requires a lawful basis, ours is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running an investment business, or your consent where you have given it.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done either in the past twelve months.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who run the Site and our correspondence on our behalf, such as our hosting provider, our email provider and, where enabled, our contact-form provider. They may use it only to provide that service to us.
- Our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where they need it.
- Anyone we are legally required to share it with, including in response to lawful requests from authorities, and where necessary to establish or defend legal claims.
- A counterparty in a corporate transaction, if our business or assets are ever transferred.
How long we keep it
We keep correspondence for as long as the relationship or the opportunity is live, and afterwards for as long as we need it for legal, regulatory and record-keeping purposes. We delete or anonymise it once that period ends.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Email in particular is not a secure channel; please do not use it to send confidential material unless we have agreed a secure method with you.
Your choices and rights
You can always simply not use the contact form, and email or call us instead.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent you have given. Residents of California, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area have specific rights under their local law, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
To make a request, email us at gp@flatheadforge.com. We will verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time your law allows. If you are in the UK or the EEA and you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The Site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and Canada, and our service providers may process information in either country or elsewhere. If you contact us from outside those countries, your information will be transferred to and processed in them, under appropriate safeguards where the law requires them.
Links to other sites
The Site links to portfolio company websites, press coverage and social media profiles. We do not control those sites and this policy does not apply to them. Please read their own policies.
Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change, and the effective date above will change with it. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
