Pivotal Fluid Solutions turns industrial wastewater into products. Its plants take produced water, mining effluent and brines, remove the solids, and recover clean water, oil, critical minerals and chemical products from streams that would otherwise be disposed of as waste.

Pivotal develops large-scale treatment facilities and builds them from its own modular technologies: hydrocyclones, cryogenic desalination, linear kinetic separation, and product recovery and upgrading. Its first projects target iodine in Oklahoma, lithium-rich brines in the Smackover, Utah and Canada, and resource recovery from produced water in the Permian Basin.

Alex Berg is Pivotal's new CEO, and Stew Adams is now its CTO. The operating team brings more than a century of combined experience in brine management. Stew has spent over 25 years in large facilities that handle more than two million barrels of water a day while recovering oil, and managed engineering and operations on some of the largest oil sands projects in Canada.
