Capwell captures natural gas from the small vents on tanks, wellheads and compressors that existing equipment cannot recover economically, and returns it for the operator to sell.

Today that gas is vented, or burned off for no return. Capwell's unit is built for vents under 50 thousand cubic feet a day, flows too small for the vapor recovery units and combustors operators use today. It installs in under a day with no shutdown, and where the site has no power it brings its own. The company says capturing the gas this way costs about half what the alternatives do, and that the unit pays for itself out of what it recovers.

Capwell reports issued patents in the US and Canada, four field trials, and paid pilots with operators in Texas and Pennsylvania. Gas sold instead of vented is revenue, and methane kept out of the air.
