Altillion is developing technology to recover iodine, lithium, copper and other critical minerals from oilfield brines and other low-grade sources. Its ALIX process cuts the cost of concentrating and purifying critical minerals by more than half.

Its platform has two parts. IRIS recovers iodine and is built to drop into existing oilfield water infrastructure. In lithium processing, ALIX replaces the concentration and purification steps; in copper, it recovers metal that today's extraction systems lose. It uses fewer stages, loses far less chemical and takes up much less space than conventional solvent extraction, and it is built on processes already used commercially, which lowers the risk of scaling up.

Altillion runs a pilot and lab facility in Houston, has recovered 99% of the lithium in customer brines, and has produced battery-grade lithium. Recovering these minerals at home, from sources that are untapped today, makes supply less dependent on fragile foreign supply chains.
